Taken was originally released in Germany and has finally come out in the US. Liam Neeson is a father who is very protective of his daughter. He is a former comapny man with a lot of knowledge in how to protect and defend. He is divorced and his wife has remarried to a wealthy man and now he has decided to retire in order to be closer to his daughter, played by Maggie Grace from Lost.This one plays out as more of an action film with Neeson going over to France to bust some heads and find his daughter. I would call it a version of Spartan, but it's not nearly as good as Spartan was.
Sure they have some action and knife and gun fighting scenes, but overall this one lacks any depth and really is just a boring old story.
Rent it or watch it on cable.
